WHAT KINDS OF FLUIDS ARE IN MY CAR?
All vehicles use a number of different fluids for lubrication purposes as well as a hydraulic medium for moving parts in your steering and brake systems. Your vehice will have some or all of the following fluids:
- Engine Oil
- Automatic or Manual Transmission Fluid
- Differential and Transfer Case Fluid
- Brake Fluid
- Power Steering Fluid
- Engine Coolant
WHY DO THESE FLUIDS NEED TO BE CHANGED?
All vehicle fluids are subject to heat build-up, particle contamination from internal component wear, moisture contamination and break-down of the natural components within those fluids over time. When any lubrication or hydraulic fluid is exposed to these contitions it's viscosity, or lubricating properties will degrade creating excessive wear and tear on the very components they are designed to protect. Neglecting to change these fluids at proper intervals can result in costly repairs due to premature failure of components that could have otherwise lasted years longer. At Courtesy Tire our professionally trained technicians can make sure that the fluids in your vehicle are maintained at the best possible level of integrity to ensure long life of the parts they protect. Please contact one of our service advisors to find out when your vehicle manufacturer recomends replacing each of these fluids.
